While we just got back from Aston Township fireworks display company 68 was dispatched for a large brush fire behind the firehouse. 68-9A and 68-7 got on location an had three trash piles and surrounding brushes on fire. 68-1 (D.Smith) went responding seconds after dispatched with a crew of 7 followed by ladder and utility 68 minutes later. 68-1 got on location and was told to hit the hydrant on Penn at the back entrance. The crew from 68-1 stretched a 1 3/4 hand line and started to make an attack on the fire. It took almost ten minutes to bring the fire under control. Great job to all units on scene.
